Church membership is not the same as being on a journey to grow in faith. Jesus commands his church to “make disciples. . . and teach them to obey all that I have taught you.” Disciples are committed to becoming more like Jesus in their attitudes and actions. Jesus invited people into a community of persons committed to following him where they can assist one another in becoming fully devoted followers.
